T'nalak Festival - Cotabateños Pride


Have you heard this such undying lines? Pahiyas of Lucban, Ati - atihan of Ilo - ilo, Sinulog of Cebu, Dinagyang of Davao and a lor more. waht is the common factor with such occassion? If you say they are all both festivals celebrated in different regions in the Philippines, absolutely you are right! With its own pride and glory South Coabato bring its Tnalak Festival 2008 with this year theme "Gaining Grounds Towards Global Excellence".

The T’nalak Festival is a prestigious annual event highlighting the colourful traditions of the T’boli tribe, who weaves the famous t’nalak cloth that symbolizes the culture of South Cotabato. This year long week celebration is filled with enormous activities starting from its various socio - cultural show down to the magnifiscent and colorful fireworks display. It showcase the various local products made from Tnalak fibers that truly reveals the genuity and and artistry of Cotabateños when it comes to handicraft skills. It also fascinated by various panoramas such as the native and elegant "Bahay - Kubo" that stands along the street that are truly a wonderful sight to evry eyes who passess by due to its simplicity and beauty taht brings back the past life of our forefathers, the "Mutya ng South Cotabato" expose the majesty of our lovely ladies in beauty and brain, "Battle of the Bands" telling our countrymen we have such talent and skill in producing music that captivates one soul. This year T'nalak festival is truly made to be a wonderful event for the people of South Cotabato for them to feel and realized how blessful they are having a place more than its happy people but also a place which is a home to everyone.
